The Adventures of Ozzie & Harriet was one of the longest-running and most-loved family situation comedies on television. It began as a radio series in 1944 and segued into an ABC prime time television series in 1952. The Nelsons were a real-life family and Ozzie and Harriet, along with their sons, Ricky and David, were playing themselves, giving the show genuine impact.
This box set is endorsed and presented by the Nelson family and includes 24 of the most memorable episodes representing the 14 seasons that concluded in 1966. It takes us from when the boys are teenagers, through their college graduation, marriages and career launches, and, in addition to becoming adults, Ricky becomes a teen idol right before our eyes. In the episode 'Ricky, The Drummer,' we see Ricky's very first televised performance ('I'm Walkin''), and several other of his performances in this series. The series also makes the natural progression from the black and white TV era into color broadcasts by the final episodes, in which we see Ozzie and Harriet home together after the boys have left home.
