This new anthology of prayers was compiled in the hope that it will prove a useful resource both for personal reference and for all who are called to lead others in worship. Prayers are included from a wide variety of traditions, places, and times. Over a third of the 1,200 prayers are by 20th century authors, and many are by authors still writing today. Altogether there are over 560 different sources represented. To assist the reader, the entire collection is indexed, both by theme and author. Also the prayers are arrainged in alphabetical order for ease of reference.
