Like a good action movie, this book is pure philosophical excitement! De Lubac recognizes that modern atheism is not the same as the more 'trendy' atheism of days gone by and he presents an engaging argument for how it became that way. Begining with the philosophies of Nietzsche, Marx, Comte and Feuerbach, he compares and contrasts their ideas with each other as well as with other thinkers of their day. He then goes on to show this new breed of atheism is, in fact, anti-theism or, more to the point, anti-Christianism.
