The astonishing events in the Book of Acts happened to ordinary people who received the power of the Holy Spirit and became 'laborers together with God.' This same power is available to you! Jesus said 'These signs will accompany those who believe ... they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues ... they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well' (Mark 16:17-18, NIV). Such miraculous displays are called spiritual gifts---given to the Church by God. Paul said, 'Pursue love and desire spiritual gifts.' If you believe that God has more for you than salvation, if you long to be filled with His Holy Spirit, if you desire the gifts of the Spirit, then get ready to receive! |
