The Apostle Paul has instructed us that as Christians we live between two times. We know that the end is already present with Christ's death and resurrection, yet the end is still to come with his second appearing. Marvin Pate argues that this 'already/not yet' eschatological tension lies at the heart of all of Paul's writings and essentially functions as the key to our understanding them.
Pate traces the concept of the 'already/not yet' back to its Jewish roots and shows with exceptional clarity how Paul's teachings on God, Christ, humanity, salvation, the Holy Spirit and the eschaton can be successfully placed within this 'already/not yet' framework.
