In 1995 The Times newspaper in London launched a competition for the best sermon in the United Kingdom. The now annual event has produced four best-selling books and four winning preachers: a radio broadcaster from Leeds, a priest from Scotland, a colourful Anglican vicar, and a black preacher from Sheffield. For the second consecutive year the competition now includes sermons from the Jewish community.
