Some people claim that Paul, not Jesus, was the founder of what we call 'Christianity' and that he contradicted and distorted the message of Jesus. Peter Barnes examines and compares Paul's writings with the teachings of Jesus recorded in the Gospels, and with the other New Testament epistles as well. He shows that there may be some differences in emphasis, but these are explained by the fact that Jesus was looking forward to his death and resurrection and Paul was looking back on these accomplished works. Because of this there is an essential harmony and unity between Jesus, Paul, and the other New Testament writers. Peter Barnes is minister of Nanbucca Presbyterian Church in New South Wales, Australia.
