Originally written in Latin, the Institutes of the Christian Religion was intended for Europe's educated, but Calvin also recognized the need for his work in common language and responded by publishing the 1541 edition in French. This 1541 edition is now available in English for the first time. It promises to give students, scholars, and laity an interesting look into how Calvin developed his tome during his life.
