This book attempts to make use of modern linguistic analysis to introduce seminary students (and other interested persons) to the language of the Greek New Testament. It has passed through several provisional forms which have been used by the author and a few friends for four years in various schools. It is intended to be used in a one-semester course (three hours a week, preferably with an additional optional hour for less able students.) Students who have successfully completed this course have been able to proceed to introductory courses in New Testament exegesis in which the Greek text is used as the basis for study and, concurrently or alternatively, to courses in which the New Testament is read extensively, with exercises in translation.
