This book is the sequel to Van Seters book Prologue to History: The Yahwist as Historian in Genesis and it completes the argument for th Yahwist as an antiquarian historian concerned with reconstructing the origins of Israel. While the book focuses entirely on the biblical corpus of the Yahwist in Exodus-Numbers, it always has in mind the model of the author as historian and a particular form of antiquarian historiography.
