Product Description
The old path in this story begins in 1752 with the life of French Huguenot, Daniel Cruger, whose son became a member of the U.S. House of Representatives for the state of New York, a general in the war of 1812 and a district attorney. Daniel Jr. had two illegitimate twin boys--whom he gave away. One son, Jefferson Cruger, tells us of his upbringing and became a devoted believer in God and member of the Temperance Society of 1827. His son, George Washington Cruger, became a teacher and Baptist preacher. After moving west George's sons, Ellis and Arthur Cruger, although active in the Baptist church came to embrace the Pentecostal movement in the 1920's. This intriguing book shows the path of six generations and the influence of father and mothers on their children. However, due to the natural sinful natures we are born with, not all of the sixteen children of Ellis Cruger adhered to the old path. The sequel to this book will tell the story of the eighteen children and their understanding of the old path to peace as they lived through the depression and into the 21st century.
