Dr. Taylor preached for years at the Concord Church in Brooklyn. Years of sermons were stored together in a closet in various folders, boxes and filing cabinets. From this closet comes the sixth volume of The Words of Gardner Taylor. Save for the reprinting of a handful of sermons, these messages selected by Dr. Taylor's have not been seen or heard, in some cases, for as long as forty years. Each has those elements that have made Dr. Taylor's preaching so widely regarded today: a theologian's thought, a poet's language, a thespian's delivery, and most of all an engagement with the Eternal.
