George Swinnock was a notable English Puritan who lived during a period of social and religious upheaval, 1627-1673. He is one of the easiest Puritan authors to read. He is theological yet he is very practical. His doctrine is expressed in vivid fashion and is marked by a keen sensitivity to the Scriptures. The five volumes of his WORKS are here reprinted from James Nichol's edition of 1868. They have long been hard to find.
