Coming from the confines of the Iron Curtain, Dr. Maciejczyk journeyed to America and made a life for himself as a countryside doctor. This average, working man was doing his job with love and skill. One day new demands on his profession required a decision which collided with his understanding of the moral aspect of his vocation. Responding, he chose the less traveled road. The consequences were harsh and painful. Surprisingly, the results gave him also something he didn't expect. They challenged him to grow, to acquire a new awareness, new vision, and brought to the surface his unknown, unused talent.
