Leading scholars discuss points of convergence and divergence between Wesleyan theology and process theology. Many Wesleyan scholars have found process thought helpful in articulating a theology that remains true to Methodist precedent while also being sensitive to shifts in the cultural and intellectual climate of recent years. In turn, process thinkers interested in identifying older streams of Christian thought and practice that are more or less compatible with their philosophical commitments have found Methodists congenial conversation partners.
