This is a book on traditional formal logic, a subject which a student might have studied in the Middle Ages. This book discusses traditional logic rather than modern logic. Traditional logic is the study of the classical syllogism; modern logic is the study, primarily, of the calculus of propositions. You will not find truth tables in this book, nor will you find much of the mathematical formulations that are the common currency of modern logic.
