In this commentary Gordon J. Keddie draws out the lessons of 2 Samuel. Written in an easy-to-understand style, Keddie's commentary encourages us to look for God's blessing in our lives, since the story of David is a picture of David's royal Son, Jesus Christ, the Mediator-King who rules over all things. Other stories from 2 Samuel give us a picture of life in the real world, from the selfish, murderous, yet loyal Joab to the sad, incompetent Ish-Bosheth. Gordon J. Keddie trained at Westminster Theological Seminary, Philadelphia, and, as of this commentary's publication, was pastor of New Covenant Reformed Fellowship, State College, Pennsylvania.
