Here students are challenged to find appropriate synonyms with 'stronger' or 'clearer' meanings than the words presented. The 26 lessons found here use a variety of formats including book reports, personal postcards, and want ads to teach 'choosing the right synonym' and 'comparing the meanings of synonyms.' As students successfully complete each activity, they become familiar with using a thesaurus and expand their vocabulary. Grades 4-8. |
