As It Was! is an interdisciplinary approach to American history. It provides multi-curricular activities related to broad-based concepts and applies them to a particular period of time. Students are provided with opportunities to learn about people, places, and issues of America's past through the following disciplines: Language Arts Social Studies Science Math Art/Music This book is divided into three units: Issues People Places Each unit is divided into three sections: Get the Idea! Get the Facts! Make the Connection! Grades 4-8.
