The world's largest atheistic religion, Buddhism has existed in some form for over 2 millennia, but many in America do not understand it. While not written from a Christian perspective (indeed, some of the views of Christianity used for contrast in the book are incorrect), a Western understanding of the life and teachings of Siddhartha Gautama is presented as a way of familiarizing oneself with this belief system embraced by over half a billion people worldwide in one form or another.
