Many will find it hard to 'tune in' to one who takes the holiness of God and the sinfulness of sin as seriously as Owen does, for the moral relativeness and inversion of values that mark the permissive society have deeply infected the church. But that only shows how urgently we need to regain the awesome awareness of God and spiritual issues which breathes through all the work of this profoundly and biblically theocentric theologian.
