Forty-two fun-to-work puzzles spotlight the contributions of important women scientists and inventors from ancient times to the present. Students learn who wrote the first computer program, who discovered pulsars, who invented radial tires, and much more! Each puzzle activitiy consists of a short narrative focusing on the science behind the discovery, followed by a word puzzle that, when solved, reveals the name of the woman responsible for the accomplishment. All the words needed to solve the puzzle are found in the easy-to-read text. Grades 4-8.
