The ownership of the Promised Land is a volatile issue, one that feeds into politics, religion, and eschatology, to name just a few of the many spheres that it touches. While many dispensationalists side with Israel, many others feel that there has been a misunderstanding of traditionally Zionist interpretations of Scripture. Sizer clearly defines Zionism along with his response to it in an attempt to open dialogue between the two camps, seeing that this issue is explosive both inside and outside the Church. Rev. John Stott (The Incomparable Christ) appends the volume with a sermon concerning Israel's proper place in world affairs.
